Salesperson Licensing Requirements

CHAPTER Rea 300 LICENSING REQUIREMENTS PART Rea 301 APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Rea 301.01 Application Form.

  • (a) All applications for licenses as brokers or salespersons under RSA 331-A shall be made on a Form 1-RE or 2-RE.
  • (b) The applicant shall supply the following, in addition to that required by RSA 331-A:12:
    1. Date of birth;
    2. Length of time at present address;
    3. Length and location of residence for 5 years prior to date of application;
    4. Present employer and names and addresses of employers for 5 years prior to date of application;
    5. All states including New Hampshire in which a real estate license is or has been held, including all dates of licensure;
    6. Real estate education;
    7. Actions involving any bankruptcy, insolvency proceedings, undischarged judgments or liens; and
    8. Convictions for criminal offenses other than traffic violations.
  • (c) In the case of an applicant for a broker's license, the following shall be supplied:
    1. Location of business;
    2. Form of proprietorship;
    3. Copies of secretary of state's certificate of registration for trade names if any;
    4. Surety bond, pursuant to RSA 331-A:14 and Rea 401.01(d); and
    5. Firm, partnership or corporation.

Continuing Education Requirements

Reciprocity

331-A:11-a Reciprocity For Licensure. If an applicant holds an active real estate license in good standing, and issued by examination in accordance with the laws of another jurisdiction, that applicant may apply for an original New Hampshire license by first taking the New Hampshire portion of the licensing examination, provided the jurisdiction that issued such nonresident license has previously entered into a licensing reciprocity agreement which has been approved by the commission, and provided that other requirements of the commission have been met. This section applies to nonresident salesperson applicants only when such applicants are applying for an original New Hampshire salesperson license.

Candidates who apply for the broker or salesperson examination based on being licensed in another state for at least one calendar year shall submit a certificate of good standing from the licensing authority of the state in which they are or were licensed along with their examination registration.
