Information About Renewal Applications for All Licensees
Effective in 2012, all Real Estate licenses and permits expire April 30 of even years. This includes Resident and nonresident, active and inactive, and all office permits.
Several weeks before your real estate license expiration date, a renewal notice will be mailed to you. This notice will explain how to access the online renewal application. To complete the online renewal application, you must use a credit card to pay your renewal fee.
How to Renew an Active Resident or Nonresident License
We will mail your renewal notice to the Broker address on your record.
Section 8.0 of the Commission’s Rules and Regulations requires you to attest to completing the required continuing education (CE) to renew your license. The amount of CE and mandatory courses required depends on when your license was issued. Click here for more information.
How to Renew an Inactive License
We will mail your renewal notice to the personal address on your record.
Please keep your contact information in our records up-to-date so that notices we send will reach you. To check and update your contact information online, click Change Contact Information.
You can not reactivate an inactive license online. If you wish to return your license to active status so that you can practice in Delaware, complete and submit a Request for Reactivation of a Delaware Real Estate License.
How to Renew an Expired License
If you do not renew your license before the expiration date, your license will expire. It is illegal to practice while your license is expired.
You may renew a license for a period of sixty days after the expiration date by submitting a renewal application and paying a late fee. However, if the license has been expired more than 60 days, you must apply for reinstatement of the license.
