Qualifications for Becoming a Licensed Home Inspector

Process

• Aspiring South Carolina home inspectors must fill out an application prepared by the Residential Builders Commission.

Testing

• All prospective home inspectors must pass the state licensing test

Experience

• Must have one year of experience completing a minimum of 50 inspections in the supervision of a licensed home inspector
  or
  
• Be certified as a home inspector by an origination approved by S.C. Residential Builders Commission
