Washington Broker Education Requirements
To qualify for a broker’s license, you must:
* Be at least 18 years old.
* Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
* Successfully complete 90 hours of approved real estate education within 2 years before applying for the exam. This education must include:
o A 60-hour course in Real Estate Fundamentals.
o A 30-hour course in Real Estate Practices.
* Pass the broker’s exam.
Washington Broker Continuing Education Requirements
When you may renew your broker’s license, you must provide proof you have completed all the required continuing education:
First active renewal (licensed before July 1, 2010)
* 30-hour Real Estate Practices Course
* 30 hours of approved continuing education, including:
o 3-hour Core Course
o 3-hour Transition Course
First active renewal (licensed after July 1, 2010)
* 30-hour Advanced Practices Course
* 30-hour Real Estate Law Course
* 30 hours of approved continuing education, including a 3-hour Core Course.
Subsequent active renewals
30 hours of approved continuing education, including a 3-hour Core Course.
Inactive renewals
No continuing education required to renew an inactive license.
If you want to activate your license, you may have to meet the education requirements for an active license.
